Real trips. Real receipts. Nothing recycled.

Monsoon Ledger started with one spreadsheet on one bus ride: what did today actually cost, and was it worth it? That's still the whole editorial policy.

Most travel content answers the wrong question. It tells you a place is beautiful — you knew that. It does not tell you whether the sunrise spot earns a 5am alarm, what a full day genuinely costs, or whether the hotel photos were taken with a lens wider than the room. We built Monsoon Ledger to answer exactly those questions.

Every guide is written from a full trip we paid for ourselves, with every receipt kept. Every spot was visited on foot; every cost in the ledger comes from our own spreadsheet, logged the same day; every bed passed the only test that matters — would we book it twice with our own money?

We write from Dhaka, which shapes the journal in two good ways: our South Asia guides go deeper than a stopover, and our budgets are written for travellers counting real money, not points.
